Samsung 'Safety Trucks' Have Live-Feed Video On The Back To Make Passing Safer

June 18, 2015

This is a Samsung 'Safety Truck', an 18-wheeler with a live feed of what's in front of the truck being displayed on four screens in the rear so you know whether or not you're going to die trying to pass it. Not a bad idea. I'm all for increased road safety, but I'm also all for getting a free 2 x 2 Samsung TV display at home, so I'm torn.

Keep going for a video about the trucks.

Thanks to Melissa, who has her fingers crossed for truckers playing episodes of SpongeBob instead.

Safety truck or not, I wonder if the old adage "objects in mirror may be closer than they appear" still applies?

  • DC Madman

    Looks like a hack challenge.

  • Scuggler

First to Goatse one of these, wins.

  • Gene Kaufman

I just imagine some poor unsuspecting children going "EW, DADDY/MOMMY! WHAT'S THAT MAN DOING TO HIS BUTT?"

  • Scuggler

Great idea, until some fed up truck driver adds a time delay to the feed . . the horror.

  • Shegs

That looks more distracting than anything. they should have mounted the camera up and to the left a little bit to get a better view of the other lane.
