Guy Spends 6 Years Crocheting Super Mario 3 Blanket

This is Redditor AlexKingshill's friend and the Super Mario 3 World 1 map blanket he spent 6.5 years (over 800 hours) crocheting. The details are most impressive. That was truly a labor of love. I'll give you $26 for it. That might not sound like a lot, but when you consider it's all the money I have in the world, that adds SIGNIFICANCE. It does not add zeros to the end of my offer though, which is why he turned me down. It's cool, really, pieces of cardboard make a great blanket too.

Keep going for a bunch of closeups.

Thanks again to my buddy Terry, who I would love to wrap up in this blanket like a mummy and beat with a sock full of G.I. Joes.

  • Cool. It's very hard work. I don't have such a patience

  • Xockszky

That is awesome and the detail is perfect! It's the Super Nintendo version though, but maybe he chose that version because there is more detail in the graphics.

It's the Super Mario All-Stars version... better start over!

That is simply beautiful, totally worth it.

6 years?? Should've got your grandma to help you bro.

This being my favourite old school Mario game, this is so incredible, i couldn't do it, i wouldn't do it, i don't know why this man chose to crochet, but at least he has this one of kind blanket!

  • Munihausen

Very nice work, kinda makes we want to play SMB3.

  • Leland_Gaunt

Not sure what state he lives in, but I'm guessing it's something along the lines of virgin-ia!

At least the made something useful, cause it's gonna be the only thing keeping him warm at night!

    ZING!

I generally am not a huge fan of crocheted things. I don't care for the look or the material myself. That said, this could very well change my mind.
