This is a video of modern samurai Isao Machii chopping an orange in half at 50mph (80km/h), a fried shrimp in half at 81mph (130km/h) and a glowing ball in half at 93mph (150km/h), all shot in super slow motion. Most impressive, but I've already seen Isao cut a BB pellet in half before, so this all seemed pretty elementary. I remember in middle school a bunch of my friends and I pooled our money and bought a cheap katana from the Japanese weapon replica kiosk at the mall. Then we took the sword to the batting cages at Adventure World to chop a bunch of baseballs in half but the first kid to try it cut his leg to the bone and we all scattered and left him there. That night his parents called our parents and we all got in trouble, the end. Also, I'm not sure how much money there is in being a modern samurai, but this guy could probably make a killing on a professional baseball team.
Keep going for the video.
Thanks to Lydia, who agrees the chefs at those Japanese cook-in-front-of-you restaurants need to up their game.
