GAME CHANGERS: The Sandwich Cutting Knife

May 15, 2015

The Sandwich Knife actually consists of two knives, with one blade offset vertically so when you cut from a loaf, it keeps the bottom of the two pieces of sandwich bread attached. They'll cost around $30 - $40 depending on how quickly you order one, and whether the Kickstarter actually gets funded, which isn't looking super considering it's only collected about $1,000 of its $18,000 goal. I dunno, maybe they underestimated people's faith in themselves to be able to slice a piece of bread without cutting it all the way through. Because, honestly, if you're old enough to read this and can't manage that, I'm fairly certain you have no business handling knives in the first place.

Keep going for the Kickstarter video, then I'll take a turkey club.

Thanks to Opio, who wants a knife that takes a triangle out of the top of a sub roll like they used to do at Subway before they changed the process and ruined everything.

Good god, I can't be bothered to slightly cut my bread so there is a hinge. Please will someone help me????

  • aldenscott

If you want a large sandwich, won't having the slices of bread connected limit the amount of stuff you can put on your sandwich? Maybe just learn to hold your sandwich so crap's not falling off of it? Or make two smaller sandwiches?

  • Mister Cerberus

Or, for the same effect, buy a loaf of sliced bread and fold one of the slices in half

  • DrZanz

If you get slippage when you eat a sandwich you're eating it wrong or you made it wrong, that's all there is to it. This knife is for retards. kthx

  • AtomicMountain

He keeps using the word "sauce".

What are all of these "sauces" he pours on his sandwiches? Does he consider mayo and mustard a "sauce"?

To me, a "sauce" is something you put on stuff on your dinner plate.

I don't think I've ever said, "Honey, I'm making a baloney sandwich. Where's the baloney 'sauce'?"

Sure, when I have a meatball or veal parm sub, they use tomato "sauce", but that's a sub -- not a two-slice-of-bread sandwich.

For when making two cuts with your bread knife is just too much effort.

  • Worst tacos ever.

  • If someone ever got me one of those I'd slap them in the face and drop it into the yard sale box.

  • Adibobea9

$2, huh? Would you take a dollar for it…

  • Hayley Prychun Rodgers

Not bad, but not worth the money, if I saw it for $10-$15 I might buy it, but this is ridiculous.

  • MustacheHam

It's a pretty smart idea for getting a quick cut without worrying about measurements.
This knife might also work for cutting other items like sausages, meat/veggie loaves, ham (not me), etc.

  • rainbowhyphen

I could see it being useful in a food service setting where making half as many cuts is actually helpful. At home, making 2 cuts instead of 1 is trivial. Making 200 cuts instead of 100 while on the clock? Now we're getting somewhere.

  • Gene Kaufman

Interesting idea. I'm sure I could find some issue with this, but at the moment I don't feel like being a cynical jerk.
Definitely better than the Pot Shot at least

  • AdvancePlays

It appears to be right handed only right now lol
