Water Slide With 360-Degree Loop Reaches 50MPH

This is a preview video of the the soon to be opened (and probably closed) SkyCaliber water slide at New Jersey's infamous Action Park, best known for its shoddy rides that have killed several people and injured countless others over the years. Obviously, I want to go very badly. The SkyCaliber drops riders into a 45-foot free fall, followed by a full 360-degree loop. Unfortunately, you ride in some sort of padded metal cage instead of loose, making it far too safe for my interest. Have I ever told you about the time I was riding the Tilt-A-Whirl at the county fair and saw a couple bolts come loose and go flying? I just closed my eyes and waited for life to end. It didn't though, so I ate so much cotton candy I puked in the car on the ride home.

Keep going for the video, as well as a video of the looping water slide they opened for like a day thirty years ago before realizing what a terrible liability it was.

  • oh my god. i think i can not try it by myself.

They had to put a hatch in the loop for when people got stuck. This whole park was a death trap!

OMG I grew up going to this place! Better known as Traction Park. You have to read some of the stories: http://thecenteroftheaction...

C'mon... Who doesn't want to see a video of a fat person getting stuck or just going thru this thing? I'm thinking it would be just like a bank's pneumatic message/delivery system...

There is a loop slide at the water park in West Edmonton Mall, in Edmonton Alberta you get to ride in loose. You have to stand on a platform in the tube, then they shut the door and the floor drops out from under you to propel you down the slide.

Everyone who thinks that this is cool needs to google "Action Park NJ" they had a 360 water slide too. It literally nearly killed people.

  • Konstantin

3.6 rides per mile? That's not a great mileage.

  • WhiteEagle2

Why don't they just take an existing roller coaster and spray water on you and call it a water slide?

  • steve holt

Okay, do you feel safer riding down in a coffin? Cool.

  • MadisonKobalt

Well, since they showed me a shot of a welder performing his job. I am sure it is safe.

  • steve holt

'know what? I don't trust my life to an entire team of people that can't spell "Vertical".

  • Tyguy

    Meh....
What's with the "Running Man" pod you have to get into? Doesn't seem worth the inevitable line you'll have to wait in.
