Ghostbusters Music Video With No Music Is Weird

March 30, 2015

♫ Bustin' makes me feel good ♫

This is an abbreviated version (they cut out all the clips from the movie and the celebrity cameos, including Chevy Chase and George Bluth Sr.) of Ray Parker Jr.'s 1984 music video for Ghostbusters with the song removed and realistic sound effects added. It was awkward to watch. Like seeing a friend try to hit on somebody that's way out of their league but you encouraged them to do it anyways to teach them a lesson about rejection and the resulting depression.

Keep going for the video, as well as the original.

They cut out the split second shot where she's clearly walking quite willingly into some ghostly bedroom with him, so call it a spooky seduction. But yeah. Weird that this gets so little attention in such a famous video. The only storyline is him trying (and very definitely succeeding) to get in her pants. The rest is just promoting the movie. Given that the actress ended up marrying WB Exec Alan Horn, I don't think you can say she was out of Ray Parker Jr's league, unless you mean financially.

  • They missed a golden opportunity to make "Bustin' makes me feel good", into something far, far worse.

It almost looks like he's trying to rape her and being all happy about it.

XD the part where he just rolls out from under the bed.

This is fantastic. Bill Murray burps are also fantastic.

It's like Huey Lewis won the copyright suit and they could play the video with the music anymore.
