Burger Time!: Wooden NES Cartridge Cutting Board

March 10, 2015

These are the wooden NES cartridge cutting boards (technically "Retro 8 bit Game Cartridge Cutting Boards" because copyright laws) made and sold by Dave Stencil of Etsy shop CuttingBoredom. They're available in walnut, cherry, maple and mahogany and come in a 9" x 10" version for $40 and 12" x 13" for $50. Me? I don't have the money for a fancy cutting board and just cut everything up directly on the counter. You ever cut a pack of ramen in half before so you could make it two separate meals? Times are tough.

Keep going for several more shots.

Thanks to Stephanie A, who can slice and dice harder than a Ronco Veg-O-Matic.

I bet someone could make a giant Nintendo to put it in when it's not in use, and it can store other kitchen utensils as well.
They should also make a Super Nintendo cartridge cutting board, then you can buy one of each! Use one for meat, and the other for vegetables!

I like how there are grooves to make sure the juices from what you cut spill on the counter. Serves you right for buying a $40 hipster cutting board.

Such a bad idea. All of those little crevices are perfect to breed salmonella so when you try to cut bread on it later that day you poison yourself. Always practice food safety when preparing meals or your colon will hate you.

Good point, but if you're aware of food safety you already know you should have a separate cutting board for raw meats anyway, so no cutting bread on a board that could be contaminated with salmonella to begin with.

It looks rad, for sure. However, it looks like it would be absolute crap for its intended use. Imagine trying to get pieces of diced garlic out of those small spaces. No thanks.

  • I cut my veg on my enemies face!

You should be more careful with your vag.

  • I should, I really should.
