So Vain: Mars Rover Curiosity Takes A Panoramic Selfie

February 27, 2015

Note: Worthwhile much larger shot HERE, but NASA has a 32MB version that will BLOW YOUR EYEBALLS OUT OF THEIR SOCKETS if you click the image on THIS PAGE.

This is the panoramic selfie taken by the Mars Rover Curiosity while on permanent vacation on the red planet. The image is actually a composite of dozens of images taken last month after the rover crested the Pahrump Hills, which were presumably named after that Little Drummer Boy song. You know, sometimes I wish I was on permanent vacation on another planet. And, if I got to choose, I'd want that planet to be the sun.

Thanks to Viv, who informed me taking pictures of your friends is going to be the new selfie.
