Catwoman Comes Out As Bisexual, Kisses Another Lady

February 27, 2015

In this week's Catwoman #39 it's revealed/confirmed that Catwoman (Selina Kyle) is bisexual when she kisses Eiko Hasigawa. *purrs, begins kneading couch cushion* TELL ME MORE.

Comic book writer Genevieve Valentine penned a blog post explaining the scene in which Selina is seen kissing Eiko Hasigawa, who has taken on the mantle of Catwoman in recent months, while Selina has taken on the role of a crime boss.

"She's flirted around it -- often quite literally -- for years now," she wrote. "For me, this wasn't a revelation so much as a confirmation."

However, fans who like her flirtation with Batman will not be let down, according to Valentine.

"Please be assured that Selina's longstanding connection to Batman has not been forgotten; that is not how bisexuality (or humanity) works," she wrote.

Obviously, this is great news for everybody who's ever dreamed of seeing a Catwoman, Batman and Robin threesome. "Robin is a guy." What -- WHAT? You're talking about Robin, Batman's little lady sidekick, right? That is a woman.

Thanks to Ed, who doesn't know Catwoman, but does know several cat ladies whose houses smell.

...catwoman is criminally not surprise she very deviant in other aspects of life...she not the very good role model for a children...

  • Izy Betancourt

That's only in the New 52. In the 90s, I've gotta say, she was probably one of the best role models. Independent, strong, and philanthropic.

As usual, can't create a new unique gay, trans,bi character so they'll just make the old favorite characters into gay, trans, bi, or a woman. Liberals just loves to ruin everything.

  • The_Wretched

John, all women are bi. You're going to have to get over them lusting about hot women instead of you.

  • Izy Betancourt

You realize this discussion is about fictional characters?

  • The_Wretched

And they still don't want to have sex with you.

  • John

Very funny! Where did you learn that? The internet?

  • The_Wretched

Why from the very self same lusty women!

    Don't care.

  • ProphetFlume

Kind of weirded out by how much coverage this is getting. Though this IS a world where Katy Perry singing about kissing a girl launched her career.

  • Michael Knight

"was that for me, or the suit"???

obviously NOT written by a woman, or a lesbian.

  • The_Wretched

    or a lesbian woman.

  • Jamie

Why do writers seem to think everyone/character needs to be bi-sexual or gay? What was wrong with being straight and normal?

  • Izy Betancourt

You say it as if being gay or bi isn't Normal.

  • The_Wretched

  • captainalphabet

Use of the work 'normal' here eliminates relevancy from your opinion, guy.

  • ShartInYourJacuzzi

There is only a small handful of gay characters, compared to hundreds of straight ones. The fact that you interpret that tiny minority of characters as "eveyone/character" says a lot about you, as does you equating of "straight" with "normal."

  • Frédéric Purenne

I thought people bought those comic books because of the awesome stories, art and fantansy, not because of fake controversies.

  • Izy Betancourt

You're thinking about the 90s and back when the stories were awesome.
