Tour Of Paris Apartment Rendered With Unreal Engine 4

This is a tour of a Parisian apartment rendered with the Unreal Engine 4. It looks like reality. It's not though, it's just a rendering of an apartment that doesn't even exist in real life. Pretty impressive. Even more impressive? Trying to render my apartment to look real using a game engine. All the broken glass and roaches and pizza boxes -- they'd never be able to make it look right.

Keep going for the open house.

Was the music from the Interstellar soundtrack? Because it nearly blew out my speakers. Just sayin'.

Can we go ahead and take the extra step to link the 1.2 1080p@60fps one?

Thank you! All that hard work bottlenecked by 720p is a shame.

  • Jarod Phillips

I'm impressed by the lighting and textures in this render, however the thing that gives it away are the robot camera moves. They are just too jerky for me. Add some natural camera shake or emulate a SteadyCam and you've got yourself a very solid video.

  • Syphon

I don't think it was aimed at tricking people, they didn't bother putting the reflection of you in the mirror so it was pretty obviously a render

  • ZerglingPack

Yeah I thought the same thing, they took all this time to make it look very real, but then had like a joystick style movement.

  • Tiny Zombie

It's just a video. Nothing about the machine specs. When it runs in a browser with no plugins at that frame rate, I'll be impressed.

  • Wiley

Not trying to be an ass, but even without the addition of being told, I'd be able to tell that was rendered pretty quickly. It looks 'close' to reality. We're getting there, but we're not 100%. Still very impressive.

Unreal Engine 4 is fantastic but the Fox Engine still has this shit beat. I was impressed over a year ago with the rendering they were able to provide. More convincing I'd say.

  • Frédéric Purenne

Hehe, I just shown this to my coworker during lunch break, I said "Check out this apartment." and after a moment her reply was "Where was this filmed?"

    Just saying...

  • Wiley

I've probably played too many video games in my days. All the sconces, vases, and other smaller items jumped out at me. And the beveled glass/mirror, whenever used, was always a bit telling. But I can see how in passing not having seen the "unreal" logo intro you could believe a lot of those shots. I could take a nap on one of those sofas.

Now if only we could get the spawn to work...
