Melting & Recasting Aluminum Cans With A Mini-Foundry

January 6, 2015

melting-aluminum-cans.jpg

This is a how-to video created by Youtuber Grant Thompson - "The King of Random" of how to melt aluminum soda cans, make them into metal biscuits, then recast them into something else (in this case, a sword). Pretty cool. You know what would be even cooler? Melting a soda can with laser vision while AN ENEMY IS DRINKING FROM IT. Then pulse-blasting that can into the shape of a penis before turning your laser vision on that enemy's face so they die with some sort of penis trophy in their hands. These are the things I dream about.

Keep going for the video, but skip to 1:20 if you have no patience.

Thanks to Marcus, who once melted a soup can on the stove by accident.

Isn't this the guy that use to narrate those "The Dangers of Sexual Harassment" videos they show new starters at Red Lobster? I think I recognise his voice...

That's not a biscuit, this is a biscuit!

For what it's worth there are better casting and foundry videos out there but this guy's channel is fantastic.

Of course I was not until now subscribed. I like the few videos he did with the fresnel lens.

That's pretty nice and the bonus is that it's affordable to produce. :)

I'm glad he took the time to show us how to hide his nefarious pot, er, plot.

"guess the weight of the sword, in grams" Ugh. Grams are a unit of mass, not weight. Metric sucks.

This is sooo cool. I won't try it because I'm terrified of being a clutz and burning myself and entire neighborhood down - but gosh, such beautiful, beautiful things!!

    Thanks for sharing. Very cool.

    Now with more hotdog tongs!
