LEGO Releasing 2,996-Piece Avengers Helicarrier Playset

January 29, 2015

This is the 2,996-piece S.H.I.E.L.D Helicarrier playset due out this March for $350. It will come with five minifigs (Nick Fury, Black Widow, Captain America, Hawkeye, and Maria Hill) and is expected to be between first and third place on my birthday wishlist this year depending on the availability of jetpacks and hoverboards by early August.

Keep going for a bunch more shots (including the secret control center hidden beneath the middle of the carrier) and a video.

Thanks to Dave R and DWG, who are holding out for life-size LEGO Iron Man suit playsets.

I guess i'm the only one who thinks the helicarrier is really stupid.

  • Ed

It's cool, but very hard to suspend disbelief. What was REALLY stupid was in Captain America 2 they built 3 in a giant bunker hidden under the Potomac River with bay doors that opened directly to the water.

  • WronglyRabbit

I don't disagree with your first point I suppose, cool concept, but can't suspend the disbelief.

  • snebes

    You're not alone.

There is going to be a lot of pissed off parents when they realize they just shelled out $350+ for a micro-scale model and not a normal mini-fig scale model.

  • Ed

I stopped buying Legos a long time ago, I don't understand the difference.

  • Prosy

    Thought things looked off.
