Hershey's 3-D Chocolate Printer Becoming A Reality

January 14, 2015

Note: I still feel near death and am all hopped up on pills. Either better or dead soon.

This is the CocoJet 3D Printer, a collaboration between Hershey and 3D Systems. It can print letters and shapes just like a regular 3-D printer, but with chocolate. Because chocolate makes everything better. Except diabetes.

Keep going for a short video of the printer in action.

Thanks to Lisa G, who's holding out for a printer that can print Cadbury Creme Eggs.

Lets print a 'dairy milk' bar

Disgusting. Tastes more like crap than chocolate, that's for sure.

  • Cuckoo

Whose idea was it to construct a 3D printer that makes shapes out of the worst-tasting chocolate on the mass market?

  • Tomate Diseño

Intended on saying the same thing, I've NO idea how it came to be so popular. After hearing the brand name for so long, first time I tried a Hersheys bar I was expecting it to taste like the best chocolate ever, not like one of those fake chocolate dog treats you can't get any more because even dogs wouldn't touch them.

wartime profiteering, worker suppression and anti-competitive business practices. All these (and more) are rites of passage for any aspiring multinational corporation. Its not a conspiracy, just human nature. http://youtu.be/ag14Ao_xO4c

100% agree. I tasted a Hershey's chocolate once and nearly vomited. Its fucking vile.

  • lordpikachu

sensitive, much? it doesn't taste that bad...

  • VictorMike

Yes it does. Like Tomate said above, it doesn't taste like chocolate, it tastes like chemicals. Seems Amercians have grown up not knowing what halfway decent chocolate is. Come to South Africa (or anywhere else in the world) my friend, I think our plain Nestle slabs will blow your mind, and I don't even know Ferrero Roches will do to you.

  • The Magnificent Newtboy

With one of these and a 3d scanner I could send the chocolate body part of my choice to whoever I wanted. Nice.

  • MustacheHam

    This is quite sweet technology.

Duff Goldman is well known for his diversity of tools when it comes to sweet treats, perhaps he may consider this product.
