The Evolution Of Doctor Who's Sonic Screwdriver

December 31, 2014

This is a small graphic created by David Wildish (prints available HERE) showing the evolution of Doctor Who's sonic screwdriver throughout the history of the series. Which is your favorite? Mine's the first one, because it looks like the least painful to hide and retrieve from your anus in the event you're ever taken prisoner by the Daleks. *tapping head* Always thinking.

Thanks to Zin, who likes the latest version the best because the end kinda looks like a jelly bean.

Да, действительно. Это было и со мной. Давайте обсудим этот вопрос. Здесь или в PM.

Daleks don't tend to take prisoners (at least in the new series.) They used to use prisoners as a labor force (E.g. The Dalek Invasion of Earth) but seem to have moved passed that since they learned how to turn a dead human husk into a viable minion...

    NERD ALERT....

Too bad it's wrong. Guy should have done some research first.

Care to elaborate? I'm not arguing, just asking what the problem is.

Edit: Unless you're counting the sonic cane, River's screwdriver, the Master's screwdriver, etc....

9 months have passed since I got fired and then I was fortunate enough to find a great site which changed my life. I started freelancing over internet for them and after that, I've started earning 10 thousand dollars /monthly... Best thing about it was that since i am not into computers that much all that was required from me was knowing how to type and internet connection and i was good to go... -> TRY IT OUT HERE <-

The MK4 shouldn't have gold at the top, the one labled War Doctor is actually the Eighth Doctor's second sonic, and the actual War Doctor sonic is missing.

Well first of all, that 2nd Doctor sonic is incorrect though it is a popular misconception so I can let it slide. The classic Doctor sonics there are wrong. It's missing the 4th Doctor's sonic, the most commonly used, that had a red ring and bullet at the end. The 7th and 8th Doctor's sonic was quite different to the previous ones as well. As for that "War Doctor" sonic, that is totally incorrect. The sonic pictured here was created by Weta for the 8th Doctor audio adventures and is not cannon. The War Doctor's sonic was more like a classic sonic with the ring and bullet removed. This image is much much closer

I can't help but notice that the print via the link doesn't have the unofficial 8th Doctor screwdriver... but it *does* have the wrong pen light for the 2nd Doctor.
