Gone Too Far: Sriracha Hot Sauce Flavored Beer

December 4, 2014

Because apparently some people weren't aware the Sriracha bubble has already burst (not unlike the bacon bubble of the late 2000's), Rogue Brewery has just introduced Sriracha Stout. I will pass. Out. I will pass out after drinking 14 Sierra Nevadas instead.

ROGUE Sriracha Hot Stout Beer, made from Huy Fong original hot chili sauce and sun ripened Rogue Farms ingredients, is ready to drink with soups, sauces, pasta, pizza, hot dogs, hamburgers, chow mein, or anything you'd like to wash down with a spicy kick.

You can buy them directly from the brewery HERE ($13 for a 750ml bottle), and they start shipping December 8th. Alternatively, add Sriracha to any existing beer you already have and ask yourself if this is really something you should be getting into.

Thanks to David M, who is holding out for a Dijon mustard beer, because he is disgusting.

    I guess you haven't heard of Michelada's yet http://en.wikipedia.org/wik...

If you can't make good beer, make weird beer.

GW, the Sriracha bubble has not burst. Hell, there are still t-shirts being sold out there all the time. it was popular in restaurants for a long time and now there is a huge crowd of folks just being turned on to the cock sauce. I'm thinking somewhere after Sriracha-chocolate truffles are a fad, it will begin to die down.

Have we run out of ideas of things that taste delicious? Because between this and mountain dew-ritos and half the crappy chip flavors I'm thinking 'yes, yes we have'.

Rogue is a local brewery here, and while I will likely try this, it probably won't be good. They previously had a Voodoo Donuts bacon maple beer, and it was terrible. Rogue in general makes great "normal" beer though.

Rogue makes some (just) OK beers, but Google "rogue brewery employee abuse" and it seems they're a pretty shady company. There are so many better Oregon (and pretty much everywhere else) breweries these days. Many at a better price point. I can't see any reason to give any more of my money to Rogue.

  • Dano

There's no beer like Oregon beer! That Voodoo Donuts was pretty awful though.

My throat now burns from looking at this. 8|

Drink this with your Habanero Gummy Bears... Nothing wrong could happen, right?
