If The Moon Were Only 1 Pixel: An Interactive Guide To The Size Of The Solar System

November 4, 2014

This is 'If The Moon Were Only 1 Pixel', an interactive website designed by Josh Worth showing the scale of the universe if the moon represents only a single pixel. SPOILER: It's huge. Thankfully, you can click the different planet symbols at the top of the page to take you where you want to go without doing all the scrolling yourself. Plus you can change the unit of distance between kilometers, miles, astronomical units, light minutes, earths, pixels, buses, blue whales, and Great Walls of China. Did you know it's 325,148.4 Great Walls of China to Uranus? And I can still smell it from here! PROTIP: Learn to wipe. The paper on the roll next to you isn't just for doodling.

Thanks to ninjroid, who was just happy to see Pluto out there at the very end. Gone, but never forgotten.

Didn't use a banana for scale. I'm not convinced.

This was the most entertaining media I've ever seen to explain nothingness. I really liked it!

Wow... that's amazingly tedious at the same time as being pretty damn fascinating.
