Fill The Oceans With Concrete: Anglerfish Captured On Film In Natural Habitat

November 25, 2014

This is a video captured by the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute of a female anglerfish (aka Black Seadevil) in her natural habitat. Allegedly it is the first time scientists have managed to document the fish in the wild. And, God wiling, it will also be the last. *picking up phone* Hello, Poseidon? Let's make a deal.

Keep going for the video.

Thanks to Ashtron5000 and Dave S, both of whom tried unsuccessfully to set the ocean on fire.

I feel we should start a petition to rename the Angler Fish to the Nope Fish.

  • 80sGamer

Something about the video seems fishy to me...

  • somethingsomething1234

Was it how they kept rewinding and repeating the footage? Lmao.

  • Adibobea9

No, I think it's that the fish appears to be dead while the water slowly moves the fins to trick the viewers into thinking they just saw some rare and amazing video...

  • GirlFromSpace

Aww look at that 9cm long nope.

  • shashi

That's what she said! "you're s'posed to say that to make yourself look good" So, youre saying 9cm is not good?

  • Frédéric Purenne

9cm long... that's 3.5 inches, and seems to be able to swim slower than I can calmly float by. You don't need to fill the ocean with concrete... well you do, but not because of THOSE guys.

  • cardstock

Lolz at the tooth fairy joke.

  • Tyguy

There were some angler fish filmed on the "blue Planet" series. Great's the oceanic version of "Planet Earth".

  • Westley Pierce Johnston

    9cm of pure TERROR!!!
