Working Together: Artist Turns Her 2-Year Old Daughter's Doodles Into Water Colors

September 10, 2014

These are several examples of the collaborative work between 2-year old Eve and her mother Ruth. Eve begins the artistic process with some doodling, then Ruth comes in and adds watercolor. The results, well-- "THEY BELONG IN A MUSEUM." Dammit Indy, not everything belongs in a museum. In this case you're right though. Still, you can't just run around yelling that at everything you see. That's like the boy who cried wolf. And you know what happened to him, don't you? Eaten by a shark.

Keep going for several more examples, a shot of the young virtuoso and a timelapse of the process.

Thanks to Judy G, who has a fun name to say out loud.

Mom is quite a spin doctor. This is a "collaboration"?? More like recycling used paper.

  • Caroline Bond

I think this one is much better. A female artists draws heads, and her daughter will transform them into animals.

  • disqus_k2QxOV9H7Z

Feels like she draws whatever she wants over the child drawing. I like more Axecop where he draws whatever the kid comes up with.

  • zin

She's taking "Artistic Liberties" a little too far.

  • kevin

Yeah this is pretty much just a publicity stunt for the parent.

  • Andrew Newton

yes, sharing what a mother and daughter is doing with the rest of the world is a nothing but a publicity stunt, you jaded motherfucker.

  • Shh Private

He might be jaded, but it doesn't make her less of an attention whore. If it is genuinely special in a mother-daughter way, why does she feel the need to seek publicity?

  • Andrew Newton

THERE ARE SEVERAL BILLION VIDEOS ON YOUTUBE! However, one mother and her child suddenly rise to attention whore status because some neck beards deem it so.

Have fun being a basement dwelling kiss-less virgin your entire life.

  • Shh Private

If I have just insulted your wife then you have my sympathy.

  • Andrew Newton

Thank you for sparing my WAIFUs feelings...

  • Dimitri

What an asshole way to show your kid that you're artistically better. THANKS MOM

  • GeneralDisorder

Man, I can't stand the type of person who just has to constantly one-up everyone they ever meet or talk to. A friend's wife is like that. Real nice person but will constantly explain why she's so much better than you in every way. I don't know how he puts up with her.

  • Dimitri

    Maybe she swallows.

  • Andrew Newton

"I don't know how he puts up with her."

sex and to stave off loneliness are usually the culprits in these situations...

  • GeneralDisorder

I would much rather be alone than put up with her for more than a few hours at a time.

  • Defenestrato

Kids need this every now and then, lest they get an inflated ego and begin taking selfies all the time . . . .

  • Richelle Howes

I like the Elephant one (he looks like Babar!) and the girl with the fox headdress :3

  • Tyguy

...reminded me of a Dali piece.

  • Richelle Howes

It does have that nice surrealist look to it, but the crown makes me think of Babar the Elephant
