Video Of Rare And Iconic Black & White Historical Photos That Have Been Colored

July 11, 2014

This is a video of a bunch of old historical photos that have been carefully colored to add new life to the shots. I'm pretty sure I'd already seen a bunch of them before, but it was nice to have them all in video form so you can just sit back and enjoy. Plus there's a little blurb about each one providing its historical significance. Oh, and music. It was all very moving. It really got me thinking about not just where we as humans have come from, but where we're going. Which, based on all the dumb shit I see people posting on Facebook, is straight to hell in a handbasket. Whatever, just as long as I don't have to ride in my mom's purse.

Keep going for the video.

Thanks to Evan, who agrees it would be cool if we could all turn our vision to only black and white only if we wanted. Yes! Plus sepia.

Why isn't this just a slide show?

Anyone else notice Ayra Stark at 4:50. Literally a total doppelganger.

Those are really neat. I especially love the Lincoln one.

  • The beautiful music does not fit with images of hitler.

But you don't protest the dead soldier picture from the Civil War, the Russian Royal Family, WW1, WW2, Vietnam, etc?

Hitler was a person like anyone else and like him or not he was a part of history.

Lately it seems he's become a caricature of a scapegoat.

Remember Stalin? His massacre was far more brutal against his own countrymen. And there's been plenty of more recent massacres than the Holocaust. I'm not saying the holocaust wasn't a serious and disturbing thing but it's far from unique in the annals of history.

Can't tell if trolling, or just stupid...

    Video not working. Sadness.
