Hold Me, I'm Old: Modern Kids React To Playing Game Boy

July 7, 2014

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of handheld console, The Fine Brothers gave a bunch of kids Game Boys and asked them what they thought of them. SPOILER: Not impressed. So not impressed some of them can't even understand how people could have possibly enjoyed playing with them. Spoiled little jerks. I used to play marbles and have checker wars with my brother when I was a kid. I am well over 200 years old. I remember watching the gunfight at the O.K. Corral from a rocking chair when I was already well into my 80's. The firewater they used to serve at the saloons back then -- good God. That shit would eat a hole through your stomach if you didn't eat enough steak first. Those were the days.

Keep going for the video.

Thanks to PYY, who agrees the Game Boy is hands down the best portable video game system to hit somebody in the head with.

Oh the stereotypes.. i mean archetyes. Especially the asian kid.

That reaction when you hear Addy say "why can't it be called the Game Boy Girl". http://37.media.tumblr.com/...

  • darabe

damn that littlest girl with hat knows her shit.

  • ODwanKenObi

The asian kid with the green shirt is pretty smart and makes well thought out comments. some of the other kids just seem like little snobs.

  • SilverX2

that chubby kid that didn't know how tetris works. I'm pretty sure hes the first sign of the coming apocalypse.

  • MustacheHam

I remember my first GameBoy...6th birthday...ironically with the game Tetris.

All of the sudden I feel like an old guy

When I was 8 I was totally amazed by old tape recorders, telegraphs, and old technology in general. I still love to see how ingenious they were to achieve complex functions just with mechanics or simple analog circuits. I don't think being a kid is an excuse for being ungrateful to the past, and a general little douche.

  • Lu Cho

I see that my comment sounded worst than I intended. excuse me, I lack some vocabulary, since I actually speak spanish.

That just goes to show, conclusions drawn from assumptions can easily be made incorrect. I made assumptions about you and shame on me for that!

  • o0THX11380o

Don't worry, in 25 more years all these kids will have kids that think their parents lived a horrible existence with their iphones and apps and screens. Vengeance will be yours.

screw you kid, atari is the tits

  • Shawn Bibby

Out of any game... why tetris!

  • disqus_k2QxOV9H7Z

    Game gear was superior.

  • Elak Swindell

I agree, but I loved and fully supported the Atari Lynx. Still have my third edition version in working order and nearly all of the games.

    You guys...
Shut up, mute the video & put the captions on, these drunk rapper kids are hilarious.

I don't think it's fair to call them spoiled brats.

I myself played a lot with the older gaming systems (Gameboy, SNES, PS1) and at that time, it was brand new technology and everyone was raving about it. Technology has evolved and the kids of today are used to a new standards. Having them talk about their iPad isn't a proof that they are more spoiled than we were. Times have changed. Maybe some of them did save their allowance to get themselves a 3DS.

This video was meant to show us that things are different now, and they are. We shouldn't be so offended by this.

  • whocares69

this is deep shit...i hope they were made aware of the theme tunes....they were gooooooood

  • Christoffer Jeppesen

People need to stop acting like edgy hipsters. Guess what, you're not cool just because you are older than these kids, and they are not spoiled brats because some of them don't like an old gaming device.

Get off your own dicks, for real.

Thank you! I clicked this link with the exact intentions of posting something like you.

This current trend of shaming kids cause they missed out on older tech. and/or entertainment is so lame. Instead of being a douche and belittling them for missing out, how about taking on the task (and joy) of being the one that introduces them to the things they missed out on.
