Another Day, Another Guy Trolling A Poor Lil Spider

July 8, 2014

This is a video of a guy trolling a lil spider (not actually a spider -- possibly a red velvet mite?) by blocking its path with imaginary walls. This isn't the first video I've posted like this. Here's an arguably better one from a few years ago. Some people claim it's the color of the ink that makes the mites hesitant to cross lines. I have my own theory. I think it's the SMELL of the fresh ink. Just kidding, I think it's because they realize there's a giant f***ing with them and if they want to survive it's best to play this giant's little game for awhile. There, you got your footage, now please, let me go back to my wife and family.

Keep going for the video.

Thanks to Micropht, who only trolls deadly spiders.

I figure the spider can sense or "smell" the ink, and sees it as a hazard so it goes the other way, but what do I know.

  • Blackcatsweetie

Not a spider but a gibbium ! we got plenty at home (it's pretty nice though)

  • zin

Spiders are just too awesome. If I ever get a cybernetic body I'll have myself fashioned after this:

Just go easy on the blue please.

I've never seen anyone use a pen for that long without drawing a wang.

Geekologie, you have posted a similar topic about this earlier. Back in may 2012.

I am aware that you have written... another guy trolling a poor lil spider... in the headline. Just thought I'd mention it anyway.

try it with this spider and a marker.
plus footage of child saying "may the force be with you!".

  • Fredrik Pettersen

    hehe clever

  • what?

  • what is more sadistic?
trolling the lil spider or watching a documentary of said on youtube commenting on how it is acid of the ink or if the spideys is 2d?
    you are all sick!
i am one poor eurotrash sicko, that is for sure!

  • asdfasdfasdf

actually it mite be the smell of the ink. that sounds more plausible than color to me, but personally i'm going with wet ink

  • Andyman7714

I like how the mite says "screw the mite code" and just starts crossing the line. Did I see a little finger being flipped at the pen?

  • BriteSkittle

    HA! Yeah it did

  • MustacheHam

This instantly reminds me of those "Toons vs Cartoonist" films.

  • I'm with GW on this one. Why would mites be afraid of colors? Fresh ink probably has a toxic odor for something that small. Plus from the mites perspective the line isn't 2D. Ink has thickness. If there was a pen the relative size of a skyscraper it's ink lines would probably be very 3D.

  • Geez'v

you have to take into account the fact you will indent the paper when you press on it aswell... it may even be a swimming pool sized chasm!

  • its the wetness of the ink that makes the mite avoid it.

  • awesome to the max.
plus-the pen is a gnarly gadget.
i got a full on geekology, dude!

  • lets troll this forum!

  • i feel sorry now
