Sabertron: Foam Swords With Electronic Scorekeeping

May 23, 2014

Sabertron is a set of foam swords that have detectors and an electronic scoring system that can tell when the swords hit each other, and when they hit something else. Sword on sword hits don't cost you a life, but body blow do. Now, let's go out in the woods and do battle. "Fine, but you have to promise not to throw rocks this time." I promise...TO DEFEAT YOU BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY. Mwahahahahahaha! Now, drink this. "That's poison." No it's not. "It has a skull and crossbones on the bottle." IT'S PIRATE PUNCH. The five different game modes:

Self explanatory. Land one successful body hit, and you win.

Land three hits to win.

The stronger the blow, the more damage your opponent takes.

Identical to Countdown, only you can earn health back over the passage of time, or by blocking several blows.

The name says it all. Identical to Eternal Struggle, only you can earn health back more quickly, and with even fewer blocks. Also, the lower your health gets, the less damage you'll take.

$100 gets you two swords if the Kickstarter meets it's funding goal which it already has. I see these as a great way to settle arguments without actually having to kill the other person. I mean, if you're into that. I'm totally fine killing the other person.

Keep going for the Kickstarter video.

Thanks to Coleman and JS, who settle feuds the old fashioned way: burning their enemy's house to the ground with them inside.
