Damn, Hunk: Hugh Jackman's Wolverine, Then Vs Now

March 27, 2014

This is a side-by-side comparison of a 31-year old Hugh Jackman in X-Men (2000) vs a 44-year old Hugh Jackman in The Wolverine (2013). Clearly somebody has been hitting the gym app in the Danger Room. Or steroids. I'm kidding, when I close my eyes and imagine Hugh's penis and balls, it's obvious he's not juicing. "Just how often do you do that?" All the time -- I'm doing it right now even.

Thanks to carey, who informed me she has a Wolverine poster above her bed and now I'm wishing I did too.

  • Looks like a "Dave"

I'll go ahead and embarrass myself by stating my screwed up opinion. In the 2000 pic, to me he looks like an elongated fetus with chest hair. In the 2013 pic it looks like he's trying to show muscle definition by losing every little bit of body fat, and he's too skinny(too low body fat percentage which is unhealthy), and like someone mentioned, possibly relying on HGH and hasn't been working out properly, and not for a long enough period of time, or maybe doesn't have the genetic ability to gain muscle mass (there's no sin in that. and I'm not making any accusations). But I understand that I'm accustomed to looking at overly developed muscularity/musculature(?) and I'll acknowledge my perception is distorted.

  • Still too tall (and handsome) to be wolverine.

  • That one grody bicep vein is really distracting.

  • Yummy!

]: I feel like lately GW just reads the front page of reddit (One day behind)

  • Too much minutia on Reddit. Blogs cover the big things and are easier to absorb.

  • the antagonist

As a moderately fit 30-something male, this makes getting older seem not nearly as bad.

  • Oh if you saw his workout regimen you'd know... it's still pretty bad.

  • Kaizer Chief

Hmm... Note the shaved torso, oil, and dramatic top-down lighting in the second pic - not to mention that he's flexing quite hard too. Not a diss (he definitely has packed on lots of muscle), just a reality check.

  • Tyguy

Maybe some CGI photoshop as well?

  • ProphetFlume

Even with all that I think the biggest difference is losing the Michael Landon hair.

  • WhiteEagle2

I'd be okay if my body looked like either of those hugh jackmans.

  • Gerry Roy

GW!!! I'm disappointed! The old pic is from X-Men which filmed in 1999/2000 and released in 2000 not 'Wolverine'

  • Brandon Nebitt

Uh, the article says it's from X-Men (2000).

  • Michelle

It did not used to. :) He fixed it probably because of this post :)
