A New Record!: Man Performs 4.5-Foot Flying Push-Up

November 8, 2013

This is a video of Ahmed "Iron Monkey" Kerigo performing a 4.5-foot flying push up. For a while there I didn't think he was going to make it. I know I wouldn't have. I would have gone face down, probably cracked some ribs, maybe lost a couple teeth. Definitely wouldn't have walked away with the attractive aerobics instructor on my arm, I can tell you that.

Hit the jump for the video, then let's make a 10-foot flying push-up video by performing it backwards then reversing the tape. I'm a thinker.

Thanks to Josh F, who claims he can do a 6-foot flying push-up but every time he performs it the camera malfunctions. HOW CONVENIENT.

My arms would've ripped clean off, at the shoulders, resulting in an armless faceplant.

love the eric thomas speech in the Background ! ET rules

I think it's funny how many armchair commentators are "meh" about this when it probably takes them over a minute just to rock back and forth enough to get enough momentum to get off the couch. I personally think it is incredible to see anyone commit to excelling in anything and find them inspiring. I saw a yo-yo guy once who made a whole career, put his kids through college...all doing yo-yo tricks. Find what you love and then do it. That's great in my opinion.

Man does a regular flying push-up followed by a protracted and cumbersome self-hoisting manoeuvre immediately afterwards.

  • Derek St. Gelais

I don't know I just wish they could slow it down enough so my snail eyes can see it.

  • Seth

Yea, but I bet he cant do it 50 times.

  • Me

    looks like he's right handed.
just thought I'd throw that out there.

  • mariowned

I am highly impressed. The strength and flexibility of this d00d is unreal. I wonder if I can even bend my limbs that way...

  • elpolloloco

One flyin' pushup for a man, one giant leap closer to our cousin pan troglodytes. Aka Chimpanzee.

  • Broseph

The real accomplishment is he has proven his ability to flap. Hold the pose at the top to practice glides. Do 5 or 20 of these to be sure of flight and start a kick starter to fund surgical attachment of batwings so he can make some real money and sell workout tape/plastic surgery plans

  • Wow... Geekologie commentators = NOT IMPRESSED.

  • wowemily

Who cares .... This guy thinks he has made a major life accomplishment. Sorry, pal, ya didn't.

  • cabbo

Clearly not a woman whose loins are set ablaze by feats of physical excellence.

    Can I get your number?

  • wowemily

I guess I am just fed up with jocks right now because of the whole Miami Dolphins thing.
There is much more to life than being able to do some type of weird (questionable technique) pushup.

  • KLanD

technically.. it's like 2ft, since he pulled himself up the rest of the way.

Not saying it isn't impressive, but it sure as hell isn't 4.5ft

  • cabbo

The push up counts from when he grabs the boxes.

  • KLanD

Yes that is a push-up.. but not a "Flying Push-up". The initial push-up was the flying push-up.
