Zombie Apocalypse Approved: 'Brain Slicing' Arrowheads

September 9, 2013

Slingshot aficionado and addictive-voiced Joerg Sprave is back at it, this time with a custom made arrowhead that has two little knives that flip out from the point after entering a zombie's skull FOR MAXIMUM CEREBRAL DESTRUCTION. Maybe not as destructive as an arrowhead with a blender attached to the end like I just invented, but I like to think outside the box. Well, I like to sit in the box and pretend its a race car, but think outside of it. I'm like a cat.

Hit the jump for a video of why can't you be my neighbor?

Thanks to Dickmaster, master of all hangdowns.

These types of arrows have existed for about 15+ years, now.

What's more, they're reliable and proven. (great for deer and mid sized game hunting.)

I knew about the expanding broad-heads too, but Joerg's design is ideal for zombies since (as tucker has pointed out) the expansion mechanism is on the rear of the broadhead and thus expansion occurs after the wing blades are through the skull.
Most, if not all of the commercial expanding broadheads trigger from initial impact.

  • interesting... however if you notice the design in the video allows the blades to open AFTER passing through the skull, saving plenty of penetrating power for the brain matter of the target.
The ones you posted would open before penetration and lose a great deal of momentum, possibly leaving the zombie alive...ish
