Meet You There: There's An Actual Airline Flight 666 Departing To HEL Today (Friday The 13th)

September 13, 2013

Finnair flight AY666 from Copenhagen to Helsinki (airport code HEL) is departing today, Friday the 13th, and the pilot has expressed no concerns about the flight, despite all the bright, flashing signs screaming 'THIS MIGHT BE A BAD IDEA'. Remember: superstition is only superstition until something actually happens, then it was God trying to tell you something.

Finnair flight AY666 from Copenhagen to Helsinki (HEL) will actually be taking off twice on Friday the 13th, but that doesn't seem to have unnerved many passengers; almost all its seats are taken. And among the unsuspicious travelers who take pains to laugh in the face of the Baphomet is the captain, Juha-Pekka Keidasto. "It has been quite a joke among the pilots," he told the Guardian, blatantly tempting fate. "I'm not a superstitious man. It's only a coincidence for me."

Oh sure, it's always a coincidence TILL A PORTAL TO HELL OPENS UP AND SWALLOWS THE PLANE. Then what -- emergency land in a lava floe and try to convince the devil he got the wrong flight?

Devil: Is this not flight 666 to HEL?
Pilot: What if I told you it's actually Oceanic flight 815?
Devil: I loved LOST!
Pilot: Same here. So....let us go?
Devil: Not a chance, now pass out one of these flaming buttplugs to everyone on board.
Pilot: But--
Devil: Yours is the one that looks like a burning traffic cone.

Thanks to Cy, who is too afraid to even leave his house today for fear of masked men with machetes and blade-fingered dream invaders. Same. I saw a black cat this morning that morphed into a fat squirrel as a I got closer.

    Y U NO POST?

  • qwert`

he *did* say he'd meet us there.....

k,k, now its serious. still gone. Anybody know if GW has enough loved ones to drag him to this place

  • Guest

I guess I wasn't the only one who was out sick yesterday....damn k-12 students, spreading all their gross viruses and other stuff from home. >:P

  • I guess the plane landed over GW or something

  • TheCheapGamer

Damn GW, don't show up one day and get more comments on that then the article itself...come back! (please)

  • Galm Grimson

    Where you go GW? :(

  • HoneyBeeBoo

GW was on flight 666. Didn't you know that there is no WiFi in hell? You're given a CAT 5 cable, but its only 3ft, and the router is 3 1/2ft away. Not to mention, ZERO bandwidth.

  • Dominic

has satan finally consumed the GW?! the tension could be palpable...

  • kristopher

GW went to hell and...he's still there. I guess Human/Dino relations are frowned upon in heaven.

  • Uh oh. Hell post on Friday the 13th then no GW? Scary.

  • ODwanKenObi

Friday the 13th got G Dub. I'm sad

  • HoneyBeeBoo

It's basically the same has every other flight, except: you're always going to be in the middle seat, no drinks of any kind or those little pack of peanuts for that matter, and the bathroom (yes there is only one) is always broken.

  • Lee

    1. The numbers 666 referred to Caesar because numeric counts were the way peoples names were written (forgot the method... google)

    2. The destination to Helsinki isnt half as funny as Hell, Michigan (Hell, MI!!!!)

Ughh.. its a slow day again isnt it..... First

  • David Gabel

Hell, MI would've been far more suitable for such a punned headline. not that impressed with GW writer on this article.

  • Mcf

Hell Mi!! Lololololololololololololol... There's no airport there. I hope yer ok GDub.

  • David Gabel

and Helsinki with just one L for the airport name is somehow funnier in this lame-ass story/joke?

  • OrehRatiug

Geekologie Writer writer. Also it wasn't his joke, it was an actual flight plan.

  • David Gabel

considering I've seen considerably far worse on Geekologie comments, your attempt to grammar nazi is rather funny. and I find it funny you're replying to me and not the guy I was replying to that pointed it out first.. Way to fail buddy.
