Nice, and it looks like it includes a hovering bow mod!
To help prove himself to the company, 19-year old aspiring Bethesda game developer Alexander J. Velicky spent over 2,000 hours over the past year creating Falskaar, a 25+ additional hour mod to Skyrim. I, for one, would live there. Plus try to marry another chick than the one I did in the main quest. Psyche! I married Shahvee the Argonian lizard woman and we are HAPPY TOGETHER.
Falskaar adds almost 25 hours of content, a land mass a third the size of the original game, new characters, new voices, and dozens of quests.
The mod is fully voice-acted by 29 voice actors playing 54 characters (Velicky held auditions), and the quality is much higher than most community-made content. "I'm still kind of shocked at some of the talent I got on the project... and every single one of them surpassed my expectations by leaps and bounds."
A massive dungeon, "Watervine Chasm," may be Falskaar's crowning achievement. It took Velicky three weeks to build and players report it takes an hour or two to complete. The community response has been overwhelmingly positive.
According to Velicky, Bethesda is aware that he's out there, and he isn't shy about putting his goals right out on the table. "The best way to show Bethesda Game Studios that I want a job there and should be hired is to create content that meets the standards of their incredible development team."
That's some serious dedication. I can't imagine spending 2,000 hours doing anything. Well, except for the fact I've spent over 12,400 hours writing Geekologie articles. WHERE'S MY JOB, BETHESDA? You think I can't write video game dialogue? I can write video game dialogue.
Dragonborn: Hark, I hail from Winterfell.
Apothecary lady: My eyes are up here, Nord.
Dragonborn: My apologies, it's been a long winter and I've seen nary a bosom.
Apothecary lady: Are you going to buy anything?
Dragonborn: I'm just looking.
Apothecary lady: Leave.
Dragonborn: But I wanted to pick your pocket.
