I'm In The Future!: $21,500 Computer Pod Work Station

June 5, 2013

This is the MWE Labs Emperor 1510LX, a $21,500 computer workstation. It leans back, has a retractable monitor arm, moving leg rest, cup holder, and a bunch of other features that struggle to justify its $21,500 price tag (although that cup holder does cover about $10,000 of it). Did I mention you have to provide your own monitors? Because those aren't included. It can support up to five though. As much as I'd like to make fun of it, a workstation like this does serve one purpose. Convincing people you're hooked into the Matrix. That or watching five pornos at once. So two purposes. *coworker enters office* NOT NOW MICHAEL, I'M IN THE MATRIX. "It sounds like an orgy in there." Yeah, this Matrix is weird -- mind locking my door on your way out?

Hit the jump for several more shots and a video of the pod's movement.

Thanks to Michael, who asked if I'd try to work him into the post AND GOT HIS WISH GRANTED. The world is your oyster, bro!

While 21k seems like a lot, think about how much you spend on your car and about how long you spend in it a day. Now think about how long you spend using your computer a day, especially if your a developer or admin, it sort of makes sense to put serious investment into something you spend a good amount of time in.

Selling my car and buying this.

Workstaton... yeah right! No one's going to work in that piece of beauty!

Dang, motorize that thing, add a toilet component, and we'll all turn into blob people just like in Wall-E. http://www.chud.com/article...

  • Turbosloth

or idiocracy, well, that was just a regular recliner with a toilet built in.

  • I would like an adaptation of this chair with oculus rift

  • WhiteEagle2

This reminds me of JP's chair in Grandma's Boy.

And isn't it funny that at the end he posts a little make believe conversation that is quite similar to the conversation JP has with the guy about techno frightening him. GW knows what this chair is and why he posted that little conversation. Trying to take credit from the writers of grandmas boy without doing it word for word.

  • Quick Draw GW

but I...have never seen Grandma's Boy

Could you imagine masturbating in something so beautiful?

  • mewmix

That is all you'd be doing. It should be called the VirginityGuard
