High School Chemistry Teacher Performs The Old 'Fire Sprinkler Test' Experiment

May 20, 2013

This is a short video of a potentially fired high school chemistry teacher performing the classic 'What happens if you light a fireball right in front of an emergency water sprinkler' experiment. The experiment goes amazingly well, and I'm sure all the students took something away from class that day. Probably soggy backpacks and cell phones that won't turn on.

Hit the jump for the video. Bonus points to the kid filming the scene for predicting the experiment's result before it happens.

Thanks to Terrence, who agrees fire experiments are the best experiments.

I live two blocks from there. That teacher is retarded. He was demonstrating how flammable natural gas can be. I'm also going to note that they just built that section of the school and that it is brand new chemistry lab.

I'm with balashi, what WAS the point of this lab?

  • Forblat

If he had an idea what was going to happen, how come he didn't say anything to the teacher?

  • JJtoob

Because no one would get hurt, or because it was on the teacher if anything happened? Take your pick.

  • balashi

I'm completely boggled ... what in THE hell did they think was going to happen!?

Somehow - WTF just doesn't cover it.

  • JJtoob

Yeah, I don't see what he was trying to prove, unless he just wanted to make sure the sprinkler system was working.

    hahhaha the people screaming

Just like when my "Health Class" teacher had his 'after school' lessons about sodomy
