Man Builds Secret Batcave Themed Theater In Basement

April 25, 2013

This is a video of Chris Weir giving us a tour of the Batcave themed theater he spent $150,000 and two and half years building in his basement. You might not wish he was your dad, but you at least wish he was your best friend's dad.

Naturally, he has about 2,000 comic books, plus a bat suit and a whole host of other memorabilia. However, Weir's obsession falls into perspective when he opens a Shakespeare bust, pulls a lever and waits for the bookshelf to swing open, revealing the entrance to his elaborate cave.

Presumably Chris and his family plan on living in the house forever, because a Batman themed basement is the kind of feature it takes a special home buyer to appreciate. Now a mirror-lined sex playroom -- that's a property value no-brainer. They should give me a show on HGTV.

Hit the jump for the video.

Thanks to ~zeus~ and PYY, who both grew up with a Batcave themed crawlspace beneath their house.

That kid need to be educated: Batman is NOT a superhero.
    He's either a vigilante or a detective.

Actually, Batman IS considered to be a superhero. The definition of a superhero is "a person possessing extraordinary or superhuman powers who is dedicated to protecting the public". He may not be equipped with superhuman powers, but due to his prowess and extraordinary intellect, he is a force to be reckoned with. It's because of those things, that Batman has achieved superhero status.

    Educate yourself some of that.
