I'd Live There: Insane 200,000-Piece LEGO Alien City

This is Mike Doyle's (of abandoned LEGO Victorian House fame) 200,000-piece construction of K'al Yne, Odan -- a fictional alien city. It's the first in his series of 'Contact' builds, which are all about celebrating intelligent life in the universe....and stuff. Stuff way over my incredibly dented head (I just shaved it for the first time and found out -- I'm pretty bummed).

The Contact Series of LEGO built creations was designed to promote the beauty of all intelligent life forms as extensions of our family - children under the same creative force.

Future 'Contact' works will feature celebrations of expanded consciousness, loving and caring moments of ETs, contact events and other celebration from our brothers and sisters throughout the universe.

To fund his future projects, Mike has set up a Kickstarter campaign selling prints of the LEGO city, as well as sets of some of the buildings. I just bought the smallest, 220-piece set and, provided I don't write Geekologie or ever go to sleep, am confident I could finish it by my birthday in August.

Hit the jump for several more shots and a video of the impressiveness.

Thanks to Fledge, who appreciates a good alien LEGO city as much as the next person who's tired of earth.
