Happy Chinese New Year!: The 1,000-Arm Dance

January 23, 2012

Haaaaaaappy Chinese New Year! This is the year of the dragon, so be sure to get out there and fly around breathing fireballs to your heart's content. Maybe even stockpile a big ol' mound of gold and then just sit on it in a cave. Man, I would totally do that. This is a video of the China Disabled People's Performing Art Troupe performing the Thousand-Arm Guan Yin. It's extra impressive because all the performers in the troupe are deaf. You? You can hear just fine but you dance like you're drowning.

Hit the jump for two worthwhile videos.

Thanks to cabbo and Allison, who both claim they're good dancers but never actually leave the bar to hit the dance floor. Hey that's my MO!

Amazing performance, a pretty good flow o' movement here.

Actually, I never leave the gutter to hit the bar.

  • So, am I tho only one who feels like their playing Legend of Zelda when that faster paced music comes on, and they start running around like a crowd of Japanese people when Gojira [Original name of Godzilla, you can tell where an accent gave him the English name.] surfaces?

This is some Classic Arts Showcase type shit.

  • She waves her arms and it's an art form.
I wave my arms and I'm a retard.

Happy Chinese New Year, here is a video from Thailand.

I feel like I'm looking at a moving vietnamese pasta dish.

  • is it weird that so much yellow in one place makes me physically sick?

  • RDarker

I think its amazing they can find so many fine ass women who are the same weight and size.

  • I'm guessing you don't mean that in the racist way.

  • I honestly didn't even think of that and apologize for any misunderstanding.
I was referring to the literal yellow of the clothing, lighting, and floor. I don't know why but it makes me nauseous.

    Hand job(s).
