A Stormtrooper Conference Table Created With 28,800 Push-Pins

May 2, 2018

stormtroooper-push-pin-conference-table.jpg

This is a timelapse video of the Stormtrooper themed conference table being created by employees of UK based mail-order office supply company Viking Direct (a subsidiary of Office Depot) over the course of 39 hours. The stormtrooper image was created with 28,800 individual push-pins, including 12,859 black, 9,865 white, 2,680 blue, 1,225 green, 1,156 yellow, 1,015 red and 0 purple, then covered with glass to protect the graphic. So, if you were wondering why push-pins are entirely out of stock on viking-direct.co.uk, you're looking at it.

Keep going for the video.

Thanks to Josh A, who agrees they should have done something with those little black clips that look like purses that I'm always clipping to my nips.

too bad they used the shitty Disney Storm Trooper B^(

I wonder how many times some joker said "Let's put a pin in this for now..." when they quit working for the day.

  • Nicholas Conrad

    I think you misspelled "genius".

  • Talon184

    Joker....Genius......same thing.

  • Bling Nye

Per their website, 200 ct push pins at 3+ pricing (inc VAT) = £4.55

    They used 144 packs, at £4.55 each = £655.2

Pounds to dollars is currently 1.36, so 655.2 = $891

    39 hours x ~ 10 employees at whatever hourly rate ($20/hr?) = $7800
(Unless 39 hours is cumulative, in which case, = $780)

    ~ 3' x 8' beveled glass and fasteners = ~ $375

    Free advertising globally? PRICELESS.

I don't think they meant "39 man hours". So we should assume the highest estimate to be safe. Let's just "It's over 9000!!!"

I agree...Classic Stormtroopers are much cooler.

  • Jenness

Some people will complain about anything. I respect that.
