Video Of A Snake Traversing A Single Wire Of A Fence

February 15, 2018

This is a video of a Tasmanian tiger snake (which appears significantly more snake than tiger to me) demonstrating its ability to balance and move atop a single wire of a livestock fence. Pretty crazy, right? I thought so. Mother Nature: she's always trying to find new and creative ways to freak people out. Me? I'm always trying to find new and creative ways to let the people who care about me down further than they already are. Also, people really need to stop getting the wildlife high, it isn't good for them.

Keep going for the video.

Thanks to Randi, who agrees that soon, very soon, nowhere will be safe.

More food for thought, the Tiger snake for a time held the record for most deadly venomous snake in Australia (having killed the most people), but according to recent Google research and "Australia geographic", has now fallen to third most deadly, behind the Eastern and Western Brown snakes.

I have no desire to ever visit Australia.

like the British we're especially cruel when they set it up as a prison colony, i also feel like they based the Colonel's safety brief speech in Avatar on Australia rather than Pandora... "Out there beyond that fence every living thing that crawls, flies, or squats in the mud wants to kill you and eat your eyes for jujubes."

  • Doog

Is this due to less deaths by Tiger snake or more deaths from Eastern and Western Brown snakes. Actually you know what? It doesn't matter because all the answers are bad.

Why does anyone still live in Australia?

  • The_Wretched

How did they manage to not film this in vertical?

  • GeneralDisorder

I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

  • Herbert

If only that was an electric fence.

  • Munihausen

Very cool snake, so long as it hasn't bitten you.

  • Jenness

I'm assuming this is Australia, because that's where the worst animals live.

  • Tasmania.

  • Doog

Isn't that where the Devil is from?

  • Michael

... Which is a state of Australia

  • Big Dog on Krampus

    dayum, lookit dabo go!

  • 600k?

If only that was an electric fence. 😈

  • Mark

It would only work if his feet were touching the ground.

  • 600k?

Too bad snakes don't have feet. Nice try being a smartass.

  • Doog

Are you joking? Because surely you're joking. I need to believe you're joking.

  • Bling Nye

The wire above it might be.

  • Big Dog on Krampus

he crawls to the top wire near the end!

  • Bling Nye

If it is an electric wire, it's not hot. Pretty sure it would've bzzzzrrrppt'd if it were.
