Testing A Massive Foam-Based Fire Suppression System

This is a video of the Fort Indiantown Gap Army Reserve base testing the foam-based fire suppression system at its new helicopter maintenance facility in Pennsylvania. Based on the video, it looks like it works. It also looks like a great place FOR A FOAM PARTY. Man, I remember the last time I went to a foam party. That was in college. I ate way too much foam AND got pink-eye. "You're not supposed to eat the foam." And you're not supposed to get pink-eye either, I don't know what to tell you. "Tell me you love me." Can I say it with a kiss? "I'd prefer only words." No dice.

Keep going for the video.

Thanks to Wynes, who agrees the key to suppressing fires is having a water-based superhero or Planeteer on hand.

This whole time I was waiting for the beat to drop!

  • Deplorable Erik Dee

And Marco Rubio to show up in a speedo.

  • JJtoob

    So... where's the fire?

  • Doog

How do you clean out 5ft. of foam once the fire is over?

  • JF

5ft?... Thats a hanger, was at least 20ft deep.

Im pretty sure its water soluble and would rinse away with a hose.

  • Doog

I commented before the video was over, didn't realize it continued to put out foam after it seemed to be putting out air. You are absolutely correct that 5ft, was a crazy underestimation of the foam.

  • Doog

I like it! Thus creating a never ending loop of Fire - Fire Suppression Foam - Fire. That's a video I could watch for hours.

  • Big Dog on Krampus

i guess all those people passed out from smoke inhalation will just drown in foam now

  • Glad I don't have to clear that up!

  • Ole Kraus

I wonder how much PFOS/PFOA they just released...

  • n_a_a_s

this happens in my pants during porn

  • GeneralDisorder

Looks like a pretty good frat party to me.

  • James Mcelroy

I wonder how much PFOS/PFOA they just released...

  • Meh

This is pretty old, or a new test doing the same thing. I once saw this happening for an amazon warehouse (iirc), in China, totally awesome.
