Solid Work Ethic: Shanghai Construction Worker Shoveling A Rain Puddle

September 5, 2017

puddle-shoveler.jpg

This is a video of a construction worker in Shanghai doing the absolute bare minimum to shovel a rain puddle. Any less effort and he'd still be at home in bed asleep. Maybe he just realized that it's a pointless task so why bother. Although, to his credit, he's still working harder than the other three construction workers just standing around watching. Where do I get that job? I'm a great stand around and watcher. "You watched a carjacking and didn't do anything." Not my job. "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing." First of all, if you're trying to inspire me to be a superhero, you're failing. Also, nobody has ever said I was a good man. If anything I'm more of a horrible shark/wolf hybrid. I even tried calling the Syfy channel to see if they wanted to make one of their shitty made-for-TV movies about me. "What did they say?" Nothing, my mom was tying up our house line talking to her sister.

Keep going for the video.

Thanks to Adam MC, who loves it when going through the motions is more than enough.

I've been told to do that on sites I've worked at. But usually sand is added to dive a more shovel-able mix. Believe it or not shoveling the puddle could be for either legal, or safety reasons.

  • Kent

Nothing really "lazy" about that. He was expending a lot of energy to accomplish very little in return.

  • Munihausen

That is some fine work, fellow Union Member. Keep making that $85k + benefits!

  • Your "tax" dollars at work, people of Shanghai. Good thing you weren't allowed to keep that money, you'd use it FAR less responsibly...

  • Jon Q Public❄️

Yeah, stupid gubmint with the EPA and FDA and Social Security and Medicaid and parks and roads and YEAH! Stupid gubmint. One part sucks so the whole thing is trash. You tell 'em.

  • LOL and apparently you were so triggered by my comment you decided to create this Disqus profile just to herp that derp. HAHAHA

  • Hey imbecile, all of those things you listed would be much better in a free market. Monopolies are inherently harmful and corrupt, why do you idiots think "yeah but if it's a GOVERNMENT monopoly, it's magically different!"

    What an idiot.

  • Jon Q Public❄️

Yeah, free market like Walmart et al destroying small business, free market like Comcast et al and their carefully coordinated not-quite-monopolies, free market like the vast majority of choices for any category of food product at most major grocery stores all coming from the same few companies, free market like price gouging after a disaster. Yeah, stupid gubmint.

  • If you think Walmart, Comcast "et al" is an example of the Free Market, you are entirely too stupid to continue this conversation.

What a fine specimen of our modern education system on display.

So are you a regular here, who created this alt account to hide your identity? Stupid AND cowardly? Or just stupid? :-D

  • Jon Q Public❄️

You're a nice guy. Sure glad I met you. Is TheQiwiMan your first name, or your last name? Or is it more like Cher? Sorry that you're such a snowflake you can't handle disagreement without insults. Bent out of shape a little are we?

  • Ah. Stupid and cowardly, I see. (You were so triggered by my comment you decided to create a brand new Disqus profile just to tard out on me, but *I'M* the snowflake)
    :-D

Take care, buddy. Make sure your profound ignorance of things never stands in your way of voicing that firmly held opinion, though! ;-)

  • Jon Q Public❄️

I really hope your insults help you feel big. Go ahead, let it out. I got a shoulder for you to cry on. Just as a refresher for, y'know, how things work, I need a profile to comment here. So I created one. So I could comment here.

Say, do you know what an ad hominem argument is? How about a non sequitur? Just curious how your vocabulary is. ;)

Me thinks these guys are on break and he is just fucking around. Context people.

  • This is not a video of a guy shoveling a rain puddle poorly. It's a video of a guy slowly and methodically sharpening his shovel.

  • Jenness

That is such a glass is half full response!! Love it!

  • Irina Abramovich

    Jenness:

I heard afterooster's wife is so fat she once ate a glasses full of ranch dressing and then cried because she now had to go to the store to buy more for dipping with carrots!=)

    <3 Thomas

Hubree: I miss having you running in my bathtub!=)=)=)
    Irina: You're a one of a kind friend!=)

  • Irina Abramovich

I heard Jenness likes to eat bags of potato chips and doesn't care who's watching!=)

    <3 Thomas

Hubree: I love you more than anyone!!=)=)=)
Irina: I like you more than I like to eat garbanzo beans-- one of God's favorites!=

  • Doog

    Mondays amirite?

But seriously, I'm not even sure that's a real human person. Do you see how consistent the motions are? This is obviously nothing but a Chinese Robot made to look like and perform human tasks.

  • Irina Abramovich

I heard afterooster's wife likes to eat Caesar dressing for a sport! She chucks the bottles into her face, like a hundred of them at a time!=)

    <3 Thomas

Hubree: I like the way you kiss my nose!=)=)=)
Irina: You're the nicest dancer EVAR!=)

  • Sad shoveling video is sad. The real gold, as usual, is in the post. Still got it G dub!
