Blue Angel Sneaks Up On Chicago BeachGoers With Surprise Flyby

August 23, 2017

blue-angel-flyby.jpg

This is a short video of a Blue Angel blasting past unsuspecting attendees of Chicago's 59th annual Air and Water Show. Apparently one of the Blue Angels snuck up from behind for a low flyby to shock and awe the crowd. I probably would have pissed myself. "You're always pissing yourself." That's because my dad would never stop on long car trips and my holding it muscles are all stretched out and weak now. "Seriously?" That's what my doctor said. "Who's your doctor?" My primary care physician? WebMD.

Keep going for the video.

Thanks to Alan, who never asks permission to buzz the tower.

The clean underwear shop was sold out that day.

Sweet. I was driving down M-53 in Michigan, not far from Selfridge Air Force Base, and a B-2 came over the road sloooowly and inaudibly (above road noise from the car). Startling in its size and silence. Gotta nuke somethin'!

I live about 10 miles from a Naval Air Force base that puts on a Blue Angel air show every year and get to watch them practice for weeks before the show, it is one of the most impressive things I've ever seen in my 42 years. I highly recommend seeing them perform at least once in your lifetime, you will not regret it.

Love to take the boat over to Pensacola and watch them practice. Fun way to enjoy a day on the cheap!

I remember when I was in elementary school there was some loud-as-fuck jet that flew overhead. But it wasn't that low or that fast.

Love that collective jump from everyone! I must have hit the left arrow key 30 times by now.

I know, right! My favorite is the super-delayed startle reaction by the old man in the orange t-shirt. It's like it takes four seconds for his nervous system to connect his arm to his brain.
