Finally?: A Frisbee With An HD Camera Attached

Muscles: apparently you need them to play with this.

Brookstone, best known for their vibrating massage chairs everyone has sat in at the mall but nobody actually owns, is selling this $60 VFO (Video Flying Object) with 720P HD Video Camera. The camera does not record audio, which is probably a good thing considering it would just sound like a wind tunnel. Alternatively, tape your GoPro to an existing frisbee. That's what I did. "And?" And now it's on my neighbor's roof and they're not answering their door. There's a video after the jump of a couple hunks and a babe tossing the frisbee around on the beach that includes about two seconds of actual footage from the frisbee cam, which can only be describes as "extremely underwhelming" and "I want my money back." Of course nobody got hit in the teeth so that might have had something to do with it.

Keep going for the video while I try to grappling hook up to my neighbor's roof.

Thanks to blue16, who agrees the only purpose of a frisbee camera is to run around intentionally trying to hit your friends with it.

Well from the 5-6 seconds of actual video I can see that this is a POS POV camera.

  • Frédéric Purenne

Can't wait for my dog to chew through that one too.

  • Jenness

That's what I was thinking. The only way this might be fun is if you are throwing it to a dog. Then all the people terrified of being bitten by a dog then having the dog violently move its head from side to side can watch that POV and get nightmares.

So what's the best case result here? A incredibly spinny, blurry, shaky video from your frisbee? Was this in demand? I don't understand.

  • AtomicMountain

So they make a video about a product with a flying camera, only show static shots of models who can't throw a frisbee, and the frisbee POV shots are terrible.

Back to the ol' drawing board!

  • GeneralDisorder

I like the idea of flying cameras but... This is a $60 frisbee. How long do Frisbees really last? Side note: I have frisbees that are older than me at my parents' house.

  • Geekologie

Well that was an M. Night Shyamalan twist!

  • Bling Nye

Spoiler alert: The frisbees ARE HIS PARENTS.

  • Draco Basileus

    Fris-Beings!

  • Bling Nye

That's a nice spin on it.

  • Mark

With that lump of offset weight on it they should have gone with a larger diameter disk for stability and distance ( to allow for some actual footage).

Probably one of the dumbest things I have seen in awhile.

  • DeksamTorrac

The whole point of the camera it to see video of the frisbee's POV while flying to the next person and they only show one tiny clip of what it actually does and it was really short and hard to make out. It must not work so well.

  • Draco Basileus

Not everything needs a camera on it. Just saying.

    ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
