Video Of A Construction Crane Collapsing While Building A Bridge

crane-collapse.jpg

This is a video of a construction crane collapsing in Varese, Italy while trying to lift a piece of concrete bridge into place. Thankfully, nobody was injured during the incident. Wait -- I mean, except me *clutching neck* Ow! Ow ow ow! "What happened?!" That bridge just fell on me! "And only injured your neck?" Correct. "That sounds a little hard to believe." What is this, CSI Varese? I want to speak to a lawyer. And nobody who looks like Chef Boyardee, it's impossible to take a person seriously when they have mini raviolis in their mustache.

Keep going for the video while I question just how many bridges this construction company has built in the past.

Thanks again to Stephanie B, who isn't even into construction, but is still confident that is not how you build a bridge.

Somebody pointed out in the Youtube comments, "The Counterweight just missed the fella on the left hand side!"

I didn't see that the first time, but as soon as the counterweight comes down you can see a guy on left running like a bat out of hell. That's one lucky guy.

why are there so many people, possible a kid and a guy on a bike standing so close to that thing.

A big crane pick like this is actually pretty cool to see in person, especially if you know construction. May have been off duty employees, or wives and kids of the workers?
