Chinese Firefighters Demonstrate Their Synchronized Jumprope Skills

May 4, 2017

This is a three minute video of a group of eight firemen from a Jinshan District fire station in Shanghai, China, demonstrating their very impressive synchronized jumprope skills. They manage to make a total of 577 jumps before somebody screws it up. For reference, I'm usually good for about a dozen jumps before I feel like I'm going to die and yell inside to my mom to ready an emergency glass of Sunny D before I pass out. "How are you still alive?" That's the first thing my doctor always asks too. You know what I tell him? Healthy eating and exercise. Then we both laugh so hard I almost die right there on the examination table.

Keep going for the whole video.

Thanks to hairless, who agrees it would be even more impressive if they each had a Skip-It on one leg.

Can you confuse fires to the point of extinguishing them? If so, that'll do it.

  • The Gizmo Gift Shop

I'm so going to introduce it here in the Netherlands for our firefighters.

  • The sound of that rope, reminds me of something.. Uh, never mind ;)

  • Jenness

WTF kind of Godzilla-ninja-tornado fires have they there that this training is even needed?!

  • Spike
  • Meh

How about that, i was right as a child all this time. Rope jumping is essential to fighting fires.

  • And they laughed at us! And drugged us!

.. and they put us in a windowless van.

    Wait, what am I remembering???
