Five years in the making, this is 'Princess Leia's Stolen Death Star Plans', a Star Wars: A New Hope themed parody remake of The Beatles' entire 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart Club Band' album, created and performed by Palette-Swap Ninja. Wait -- why would a ninja want to swap palettes? Black is all you need.

The album takes the original tracks - and running order -- of Sgt. Pepper and rewrites the lyrics to fit the narrative of A New Hope. The full running order is:

Princess Leia's Stolen Death Star Plans (originally Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band)
With Illicit Help From Your Friends (With a Little Help from My Friends)
Luke Is In The Desert (Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds)
Never Better (Getting Better)
Imperial Holes (Fixing A Hole)
He's Leaving Home (She's Leaving Home)
Being From the Spaceport of Mos Eisley (Being for the Benefit of Mr Kite!)
The Force Within You (Within You Without You)
AA Twenty-Three (When I'm Sixty-Four)
Dianoga (Lovely Rita)
Keep Moving Keep Moving (Good Morning Good Morning)
Princess Leia's Stolen Death Star Plans Reprise (Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band Reprise)
A Day in the Life of Red Five (A Day in the Life)

That...must have been a serious labor of love. Speaking of -- I just so happen to have embarked on my own rather daunting labor of love. "You're playing Horizon: Zero Dawn." That counts, I love it and it takes work. "It's a video game." I'm playing on very hard!

Keep going for the entire album complete with videos and lyrics for singing along Karaoke style. Full album available for free download at Palette-Swap Ninja's website HERE.

Thanks to carey and SimonSays, who can't wait for the inevitable Stormtrooper themed White Album.

  • The band's name is a Mortal Kombat reference. ;)
