Ingenuity: Forklift On Forklift Problem Solving

April 11, 2017

forklift-on-forklift.jpg

This is a video from Taiwan of a forklift using another forklift to push a large box into the back of a trailer. This is problem solving at its finest. Problem solving at its worst? Pretty much any idea my roommate comes up with. He literally tried fighting a kitchen fire with fire, which is why we've been sleeping in his SUV the past few weeks. Amazing, you wouldn't believe how many girls I've still been able to bring home. "Zero?" Okay, maybe you would.

Keep going for the video.

Thanks to MSA, who agrees the key to successful problem solving is keeping an open mind, plus having MacGyver on speed dial.

I once witnessed a forklift lift a scissor lift as high as both could go so the workers could stucco a third story wall. The wind was blowing them all over the place and they had no business license or insurance; needless to say, that was some serious tension, at least on the customers side, lol.

Fire can be used to fight forest fires, albeit with a certain amount of risk. A controlled burn of a strip of forest will create a barrier to an oncoming forest fire as it will use up all the available fuel.

truly, is there anything that /can't/ be accomplished with sufficiently recursive forklifts of varying size?

  • It's forklifts all the way down.

From the thumbnail I was wondering how physcis didn't simply screw that plan, but using the front forks as stabilizators... damn that is crafty!

  • GeneralDisorder

I think an unladen forklift has a balance point directly over the rear axle. It looks like the larger lift could lift the smaller one (although I'm sure it's close to or over the recommended maximum).

That definitely took a shitload of coordination between the two operators.

I guess if each individual forklift is balanced enough so that it doesn't tip over with the weight it's lifting, then you can just keep adding forklifts...

  • The_Wretched

I think this voids the forklift warranty.
