Learning By Listening: Robots Rap About Their Artificial Intelligence Learning Systems

March 24, 2017

This is an educational music video of two robots rapping about their artificial intelligence, set to The Sugar Hill Gang's classic 'Rapper's Delight' (with a brief nod to Jay Z at the end). It was surprisingly well written considering how hard it must be to produce a song about robots learning by the imitation of human-human interactions and guessing what topic a person is talking about based on the metrics of co-occurrence frequency and clustering, despite having zero semantic information. "Do you even know what you're talking about?" Do I ever? It's Friday and I want to go home and scream into a pillow. "Rough week?" No, I just really hate that pillow. It never has a cold side.

Keep going for the video.

Thanks to hairless, who agrees if a robot ever asks you to pass the mic, it probably just wants to choke you out with the cord.

Actually, this song is pleasant to hear .

Is that a boner chart at :50?

The only thing I got was "We don't really have AI, just mathematical guesswork to answer questions" which makes me feel we have a little more time left before they take over.

  • Didn't you ever see Contact? Math is the only universal language. You'd best be solving for X before you ask yourself Y the robots are tearing you a new A.

At the risk of losing all these mountains of Thug Street Cred I have spent years building upon... that was surprisingly entertaining to watch.

Guess "Losing my Thug Street Cred" makes that 100 problems I now have. 😕
