This is a video demonstration of the LEGO Super Mario Piranha Plant built by Jason Allemann of JK Brickworks (previously: his flying bat model). It was actually pretty interesting to hear him discuss the design challenges of making the piranha plant chomp properly. Because if there's one thing I don't like, it's a challenge. I like SURE THINGS. I remember in a job interview once the interviewer asked me what the biggest obstacle I've ever overcome is, and you know what I said? Strep throat. Still waiting for that callback.
Keep going for the video.
Thanks to Pim, for reminding me of the time I convinced my brother that swimming into one of the holes in first underwater Super Mario level was actually a warp zone because his turn was taking too long.
