Creepy: Sleep Masks With Eyes From Famous Paintings

February 8, 2017

These are the sleep masks created by Belarusian designer Lesha Limonov, with the help of some famous, long-deceased painters. Each one is printed with the eyes from a different classical painting, and each is more disturbing than the last. Could you imagine waking up next to one of these? That's a great way to get out of bed in a hurry. Also: a fire. That's what I do. I have a toaster that I have plugged into a timer so it starts toasting at 7AM every morning, except, instead of putting pieces of bread in the night before, I use wadded up paper towels. I've only been late for work once and that was only because I had to wait for the fire department to leave so I could lock up.

Keep going for a handful more shots.

Thanks to Sarah, who agrees the best sleeping masks are those gel-filled ones that you put in the freezer before you put them on so you can pretend you're going to sleep in a blizzard.

  • Kevin Spillane

I THOUGHT I TOLD YOU TO Van Gogh TO SLEEP!

  • GeneralDisorder

I demand The Scream. Preverably the 1910 Tempera. But the the 1895 pastel works too.

  • So... is she selling these? Or is this just an art project or something?

  • Sadly, these are just concept designs and not available to purchase‚Ķ just yet. They were made for the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam as part of the International Rijksstudio Award 2017. These must become a reality!

    Looks like he's not.
