This is a video of one of those Green Goblin style jet-powered Flyboard Airs (previously) racing a jet ski in Naples, Florida. SPOILER: I'm pretty sure the hoverboard wins. I also read earlier this year that Zapata Industries, the company that developed these things (which can allegedly go 95MPH and reach an altitude of 10,000-feet -- now that's the video I want to see), was sold to Implant Sciences, a US based explosives detection firm. Does that mean we'll probably never get to own Flyboards of our own? Yes, that's exactly what that means. So close, yet so far away -- like Facetiming a closeup of your nips to a cross-country lover.
Keep going for the video.
Thanks to William L, who agrees everybody should get the chance to ride a hoverboard before they die, it's only fair.
