Nintendo just released a video of its new Switch console, the console previously known as the NX. The system can be played with wireless controllers and act as a traditional home console when plugged into its base, but when removed from its base it transforms into a portable gaming console with two removeable game controllers attached to each side. Tired of holding the thing? Flip out the screen's stand, remove the controllers from the sides, and you can play it play it without having to hold it (I assume it weighs a fair amount). The video also shows the thing running Skyrim, so that's something. My buddy Terry is swearing this is going to be the best thing since tortillas, but I'm a little more skeptical. Still, I will at least borrow one to play the new Zelda game. And I probably wouldn't turn down an invitation to come over and play Mario Kart. Oh who am I kidding, I just paid $1,200 to preorder one on eBay that's probably going to turn to be a box full of rocks.
Keep going for a couple more shots and a video that answers the questions But can I play it while letting my dog run around the park unattended/in my buddy's van on the way to go-cart racing/after a pickup game of basketball under a highway overpass?
Thanks to everyone who sent this, who just unknowingly entered a raffle to determine whose Switch I'm going to borrow when that Zelda game drops.
