A 30-Foot Transparent Slide Made Entirely From Glass

October 3, 2016

This is the world's first clear slide made entirely from glass. It measures 15-feet high, 30-feet long and even the stairs are made from glass. The only thing not glass is the heavy metal base that keeps it from toppling over and leaving a rider with a concussion and an anus full of glass shards. We've all been there before, am I right? You're so made at a party host or hostess for inviting someone they promised you they wouldn't that you try to take a dump in the punch bowl and the folding table collapses. It's one of life's shared human experiences, like not being sure if you actually ran over somebody that one time when it was raining really hard.

Keep going for a closeup of the stairs which are way more climbable than I originally thought (at first I thought they would be like trying to scale a climbing wall).

Thanks to RD, who agrees people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. Or turds.

  • Show me 1 video if someone actually climbing those sketchy ass stairs then sliding down that thing without dying. Or with... either way you'll generate "buzz", which I guess is all that matters.

  • GeneralDisorder

I would slide down this only... only if I could have a kevlar sack to slide on like the burlap sacks they use for the huge fiberglass slides.

pretty cool but we have photoshop these days
you dont need to actually waste the time and resources building such ridiculous novelties
its a cool picture it will inspire a lot of "neat"s in passing
but did this thing actually need to be made?

(unless this is some type of advertising for their glasswork or pushing what theyre able to do with glass i just dont get it)

  • Geekologie

I am proud of everyone for thinking about this so long and hard.

  • El_MUERkO

pft! it's got metal bits at the bottom of the ladder and the slide

  • Andyman7714

Oh to be the one next in line behind the guy who forgot he left his glass cutters in his back pocket.

  • MustacheHam

I'm hoping this is not functional art. It is a lovely piece that should never face butt sweat.

  • Jenness

After the glass skateboard incident I would not want to go down that at all - too bleedy for my taste in playground equipment.

  • Bling Nye

First thought is, ok, go down with no pants! Second thought is, ain't no way a naked ass on glass is going to overcome the coefficient of friction on that incline. :(

  • Not if you use some sort of lubricant.

  • Bling Nye

You are definitely invited to the party.
