Man Uses Handguns To Play Songs By Firing At Toned Targets

This is a video of Vitaly Kryuchin, the current head of the Russian Federation of Practical Shooting, playing three different songs on his custom built Metallaphon, a set of metal plates that each produces a different tone when shot. He performs 'Joyful, Joyful, We Adore Thee', 'Old MacDonald Had A Farm' and 'Murka' with the help of his backup band, The Shooting Stars. This is not the first time we've seen musical gun targets though, as you may remember this post back from 2014 (which also includes a link to where to buy some). Still, it was weird to see these people performing 'Old MacDonald Had A Farm' so seriously. I doubt that song has ever been performed with such earnest intensity since my kindergarten's spring concert.

Keep going for the video.

Thanks to Johnny Fire, who wishes he could pee watermelon seeds to play songs in urinals. Hey -- you're not the only one.

Too bad the video was removed

    Real life Overwatch.

    FREEBIRRRRD!

Did anyone else notice he's getting dangerously close to slide bite every shot?

I mean, in terms of accuracy he's like Jerry Miculek 20 years ago (see his other videos... he's good, not great).

But the way he holds those pistols it really looks like he's getting the webbing between his thumb and forefinger ripped to shreds.

  • Wiley

All he needed to play was the James Bond theme and leave the rest. I saw a man in a suit with guns in the thumbnail and left disappointed.

  • GeneralDisorder

He's Russian. Russians hate James Bond.

  • Wiley

True, a fair point. But the thumbnail and headline doesn't scream Russian. I set myself up for disappointment, not the Russian.

  • Not sure I can do this, but would love to give it a shot.

  • What you did there, I see it.

  • The_Wretched

Oh, I thought the toned targets were people. Regardless, he needs to drop the back up musicians if he wants to be impressive.

  • whacko

One might argue that you probably wouldn't know what song he was playing if he didn't have backup musicians ACTUALLY playing the music he was shooting along to.

  • King POTUS

No, since the actual notes are being played, the songs are very recognizable.

  • FearlessFarris

Gives new meaning to "let freedom ring!"

    ... I'll show myself out.

  • Not sure I get it. This is in Russia. Let freedom ring is from an american song.

  • James Mcelroy

    um...ode to joy...it's a thing.
