Clever: Bicycle Company Ships Bikes In Flatscreen TV Boxes To Avoid Damage

Dutch bicycle manufacturer VanMoof came up with the clever idea of printing their bike shipping boxes to look like flatscreen television boxes to reduce handler damage in transit, and apparently it's been a huge success. The company is reporting shipping damage to their bikes has dropped 70 - 80% since they started using the new boxes. Pretty genius. Still, no word how many boxes have been stolen by people hoping to score a free flatscreen. Also, this would not work around here. The package carriers in my area don't give a shit about your box. I mark every package I send with 'FRAGILE FRAGILE FRAGILE: GRANDMOTHER'S ASHES' Sharpied all over it and they still try to punt it into the back of their truck like a game-winning field goal. So, if you're a friend or family member reading this, that's why I haven't been sending birthday or Christmas gifts the last couple years. Also, I never got whatever you sent, so if you want to send some make-up cash or a gift card, that's cool.

Keep going for one more shot of the back of the box.

Thanks to Andrea, who claims to have seen a package deliverer dump a flatscreen TV over a six-foot fence. See?! That's what I'm talking about!

Clever, bikes are indeed precious cargo that allows folks to explore the world instead from the screen.
